College of Social Sciences
The College of Social Sciences officially began its operation in 2010 E.C. (Ethiopian Calendar, equivalent to 2018 Gregorian calendar). It is an academic institution dedicated to fostering education, research, and community service in the field of social sciences. The college aims to equip students with critical thinking, analytical skills, and interdisciplinary knowledge to address societal challenges. Debark, generally “the Semein”, where the university is based, is known for its highland agriculture, dependable tourism, and rich but unveiled culture; and the university is seeking to excel in these aspects, and the college of social sciences is striving to outshine in the humanistic elements.
